CHARTER ON NATURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES

he objectives of the revised Convention include enhancing environmental protection, fostering conversation and sustainable use of natural resources. Its aspires to harmonise and coordinate policies in these areas with the view of achieving ecologically rational, economically sound and socially acceptable development policies and programmes. The right of all peoples to a satisfactory environment favourable to their development guides the revised Convention. It also emphasises the duties of African states, individually and collectively to ensure the enjoyment of the right to development. Development and environmental needs are to be met in a sustainable, fair and equitable manner.
